DETROIT, MI — The third edition of Latino Voices in Tech™ took place at the Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation (DHDC), bringing together entrepreneurs, professionals, students, and community leaders for an afternoon of high-impact keynote talks and meaningful connections within the technology ecosystem.

Latino Voices in Tech is a platform that amplifies leadership, stories, and innovation within the tech ecosystem. Through carefully curated keynote presentations, the event highlights Latino leaders who are building companies, driving innovation, and expanding access to opportunities in technology-driven industries.

Unlike traditional panels or networking events, this space focuses on deep storytelling, where speakers share the real journeys behind their careers, ventures, and impact.

Inspiring Voices

Featured speakers included David R. Medina Álvarez, Founder and CEO of LIVAQ; Ezequiel Darre, Financial Director at Motmot; and Danette Duron-Willner, Founder of Clearheaded LLC.

“I’m very excited to be part of this dynamic community that continues to grow and bring energy to support one another as we strive to succeed as entrepreneurs in tech and small businesses. This is truly creating a legacy within our community,” said Danette Duron-Willner.

One attendee also shared their experience:
“I came to Latino Voices in Tech today to hear the story of my friend David Medina, and it was wonderful to learn about his journey and how he got to where he is today,” said Yang.

David Medina, a Mexican immigrant, is developing electric all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) in Detroit, recognized as a global hub for automotive and mobility innovation. During his talk, he addressed the challenges of launching and leading a startup in one of the most competitive industries in the world, as well as his journey from transportation design to entrepreneurship.

“It was a pleasure to be here at such a wonderful event. Thank you for having me. To everyone watching—don’t give up on your dreams and keep fighting for them,” said Medina.

Ezequiel Darre, originally from Argentina, holds an MBA from Michigan State University and has more than eight years of experience in supply chain management, finance, and strategy. He currently leads financial operations at Motmot, contributing to the growth of Detroit’s innovation ecosystem.

“This is a great space to showcase what Latinos can achieve, especially in Detroit, within this growing innovation ecosystem,” Darre shared.

Danette Duron-Willner continues to make an impact in the business community through Clearheaded LLC, where she supports businesses and entrepreneurs with HR and legal solutions, particularly small businesses and first-generation founders.

Leadership and Community

The event was hosted by Andrés Ospina, creator of the initiative and founder of Create Value LLC, and moderated by Laura Chávez, founder of Raíces Detroit. Together, they created a powerful and engaging dynamic that deeply resonated with the audience.

For many attendees, it was a meaningful experience to hear authentic stories of success, as well as the challenges these leaders have overcome.

Innovation in Action

The event also featured companies showcasing innovative solutions:

P.A.D Detroit presented its modular, eco-friendly housing model, designed to be affordable, flexible, and expandable—offering a modern and sustainable approach to housing.

Meanwhile, Motmot, a Detroit-based tech startup located at Newlab in Michigan Central, demonstrated its autonomous underwater robotic technology used to inspect and manage aging municipal water infrastructure.

Latino Voices in Tech celebra su tercera edición en Detroit con historias que inspiran y transforman

DETROIT, MI — La tercera edición de Latino Voices in Tech™ se llevó a cabo en el Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation (DHDC), reuniendo a emprendedores, profesionales, estudiantes y líderes comunitarios en una tarde de charlas magistrales de alto impacto y valiosas conexiones dentro del ecosistema tecnológico.

Latino Voices in Tech es una plataforma que amplifica el liderazgo, las historias y la innovación dentro del ecosistema tecnológico. A través de ponencias cuidadosamente curadas, el evento destaca a líderes latinos que están construyendo empresas, impulsando la innovación y ampliando el acceso a oportunidades en industrias impulsadas por la tecnología.

A diferencia de los paneles tradicionales o eventos de networking, este espacio se centra en narrativas profundas, donde los oradores comparten las historias reales detrás de sus trayectorias, emprendimientos e impacto.

Voces que inspiran

Entre los ponentes destacados estuvieron David R. Medina Álvarez, fundador y CEO de LIVAQ; Ezequiel Darre, Director Financiero de Motmot; y Danette Duron-Willner, fundadora de Clearheaded LLC.

“Estoy muy emocionada de ser parte de esta dinámica comunidad que ha crecido y que agrega energía para apoyarnos a todos mientras buscamos ser exitosos como emprendedores en tecnología y pequeños negocios. Esto realmente está creando un legado en nuestra comunidad”, expresó Danette Duron-Willner.

Por su parte, uno de los asistentes compartió su experiencia:
“Vine a Latino Voices in Tech hoy a escuchar la historia de mi amigo David Medina, y fue maravilloso conocer su trayectoria y cómo ha llegado hasta donde está”, comentó Yang.

David Medina, inmigrante mexicano, está desarrollando vehículos eléctricos todo terreno (ATVs) en Detroit, reconocido como un centro global de innovación automotriz y de movilidad. Durante su intervención, habló sobre los retos de lanzar y liderar una startup en una de las industrias más competitivas del mundo, así como su camino desde el diseño de transporte hasta el emprendimiento.

“Fue un placer estar aquí en este evento tan maravilloso. Gracias por invitarme. A todos los que nos ven, no se rindan en sus sueños y sigan luchando por ellos”, dijo Medina.

Ezequiel Darre, originario de Argentina, es graduado de MBA de Michigan State University y cuenta con más de ocho años de experiencia en cadena de suministro, finanzas y estrategia. Actualmente lidera las operaciones financieras en Motmot, contribuyendo al crecimiento del ecosistema de innovación en Detroit.

“Es un gran espacio para mostrar lo que los latinos pueden lograr, especialmente en Detroit, dentro de este creciente ecosistema de innovación”, comentó Darre.

Danette Duron-Willner, por su parte, continúa impactando a la comunidad empresarial a través de Clearheaded LLC, donde apoya a empresas y emprendedores con soluciones en recursos humanos y temas legales, especialmente a pequeños negocios y fundadores de primera generación.

Liderazgo y comunidad

P.A.D Detroit presentó su modelo de viviendas modulares y ecológicas, diseñadas para ser accesibles, flexibles y expandibles, ofreciendo una alternativa moderna y sostenible para el acceso a la vivienda.

Por su parte, Motmot, startup tecnológica con sede en Detroit y ubicada en Newlab en Michigan Central, mostró su tecnología de robótica submarina autónoma, utilizada para inspeccionar y gestionar la infraestructura envejecida de tuberías de agua municipales.
